2 years 5 months and testing the limits

Lauren got her very first time out at daycare on Friday. Actually she got two time outs. :( So far some how she has been nothing short of an angel at daycare. While the other kids are getting time outs everyday, our little angel has managed to avoid any behaviours that would land her in that spot. Until Friday. She pushed the other little girl out of the way so she got a warning, and then when she did  it again, a time out. Then after the time out was over she picked up a toy and threw it across the room. Hence the second time out.
I really hope it was just a one time thing. She tested the water, saw that it got her in trouble and she wont do it again. A mom can hope can`t she?

29 weeks

Brier is growing like an adorable little weed! She can now officially sit on her bum and play unassisted. There is the odd time when she calls over but for the most part she is completely stable.

She is loving vegetables and fruits but still isn`t a huge fan of rice cereal. She has had peas, green beans, squash, carrots and pears.

She is eating approximately 25-ozs of formula a day and usually has 3 naps throughout the day.

She has no teeth yet, but chews on Sofie and drools a lot so I am sure there are some teeth making their way into place.

Jolly Jumpin

Here is the video of Brier in the Jolly Jumper that I promised many weeks ago. Bottom line is, she`s adorable and likes to bounce.

Playing Catch Up

Boy! I'm really falling behind on my blogging. I need to catch up on a few details of Brier and Lauren so bullet form it will have to be. Here we go:

Brier
  • Is now 6 months old. Her mother is not happy.
  • She started eating cereal last weekend, but she is not a big fan. She is also eating green beans which she seems to enjoy more than the cereal. Maybe we'll just forget it all together and continue on with the veggies and fruit. Why do they need cereal anyway?
  • She is at the stage where I have to the holding her or sitting on the floor with her or else she is crying. God forbid I leave the room - all hell breaks loose!
  • She is loving the Jolly Jumper! I've always wanted a kid who was a fan of the JJ and now I've got one.
  • She is doing really great at sitting up on her own. I think if she can master sitting it will be the gateway to Lauren playing with her. I think Brier will be thrilled the day Lauren decides she is worthy of attention.
  • She is really using her voice - morning, noon and night. She wakes up screeching (happily) and has moments of screeching throughout the day. Usually when Lauren is trying to sleep.
  • Her eyes are still blue.
  • She is just growing out of 6 month clothing and seems to be most comfortable in 9 months.
  • She is totally adorable!
Lauren
  • She is just over 2 years and 4 months old.
  • Her vocabulary is really expanding, she is really obsessed with animals and shapes right now. She's mastered the circle, Bee, Zebra, Bunny Rabbit, Fish and Ant among many others.
  • She can wear 2T but looks best in 3T because she seems to be tall for her age.
  • She is amazing at puzzles and tower building.
  • She loves snacks and is constantly opening the snack cupboard and bringing out boxes of crackers.
  • She watched Mike The Knight the other day, it was an episode where Mike was guarding a bunch of bananas. At the end he and his friends all ate a banana. Lauren went right into the kitchen, pointed at the bunch of bananas on the counter said "NANA!" and has decided she loves them ever since. Who says TV is bad for kids?
  • She has some WICKED dance moves.
  • She is having a bit of a difficult time accepting he sister. Not interested in sharing her toys or her dad with Brier. This is something we are going to need to start working on.
  • Her eyes suddenly look more green/brown than blue/grey like they use to.
  • She is totally awesome!
