The Nose Knows

It's been a rough week.

Lauren has been suffering from a terrible cold for 10+ days now. We kept her home from daycare Thursday, Friday and Monday. Sunday we took her to the walk-in clinic so the doctor could check her ears for infection. They were fine.

Tuesday she went back to daycare even though she still was not herself.

Then to add injury to illness, Wednesday night she tripped and was not able to get her hands out to stop herself and landed square on her nose! There was blood and screaming and the whole thing was traumatic for all of us. We debated taking her to the ER, but decided to put her to bed and re-evaluate in the morning. The next day she went to daycare but her nose was obviously tender. I took her to the doctor that afternoon. The doctor was confused... did kids this age even have bones in their nose to break? Apparently they do not. Her nose was fine. While we were there I asked if she could check her ears again - turns out they were both infected! She is now on 10 days of antibiotics and is feeling much better. Oh and to make things even more exciting, one of the kids at daycare has pink eye. Now wouldn't that be the trifecta of awesomeness?
